“Success is a journey, not a destination,” is a quote that guided me through my time at MNIT Jaipur. At MNIT’s
Department of Physics, this philosophy became a reality. From the day I joined in 2022, I felt that each step –
from foundational courses to cutting-edge research projects – was part of a meaningful journey. The institute’s
supportive environment and resources shaped my progress at every stage. I graduated with a deep sense of
gratitude and pride, knowing that MNIT Jaipur played a defining role in my success. The curriculum at MNIT
was exceptionally well-balanced between theoretical learning and practical application. Early on, we built a
strong conceptual foundation in core physics. At the same time, extensive laboratory work and projects
connected those theories to real-life problems. This blend, from basic principles to advanced topics, allowed me
to master complex subjects with confidence. A crucial part of this journey was the dedicated faculty. Their
guidance and mentorship helped me excel in national-level competitive exams. With their support, I prepared
rigorously and achieved very good ranks in GATE, JEST, and CSIR NET-JRF. I experienced that faculty were
always available to clarify doubts, suggest study strategies, and motivate me. Their involvement made a huge
difference in my academic achievements and exam performance. During my M.Sc., I was privileged to be
selected for a paid research internship at IIT Madras. There I worked on supercapacitors, gaining invaluable
hands-on experience. I also had the opportunity to assist and participate in ICTN-KLC 2023, an international
conference on thin films and nanotechnology. In addition, I attended various workshops and conferences held on
campus, which significantly broadened my exposure to current research trends and enabled me to connect with
leading experts, peer researchers, and the global academic community. For my master’s project, I worked on
developing high-resolution photosensing technology using topological insulating materials for detecting,
measuring, and analyzing different physical and chemical analytes at room temperature. This project helped me
realize that I am passionate about experimental discovery, which led me to the next step in my academic career.
Motivated by this passion, I applied to Ph.D. programs across India. I am happy to report that I received offers
from several premier institutes, including IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Jodhpur, and others. This multitude of
offers reflects not only my hard work but also the strong preparation I received at MNIT. Outside academics,
campus life at MNIT was transformative. I took part in student committees and clubs, which helped me develop
leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. My diverse friendships and committee work improved my
ability to work with others, to present ideas clearly, and to empathize with different perspectives. These
experiences, alongside rigorous academics, honed my soft skills just as much as my technical ones. Above all,
MNIT Jaipur shaped me not only as a professional physicist but also as a responsible, empathetic individual.
The department’s mission emphasizes nurturing leadership qualities and sensitivity to social development in
students. I feel this every day: I am better prepared to use my knowledge for the welfare of society and to
collaborate ethically with others. I remain deeply grateful to the faculty and staff who trusted me, to my peers
who inspired me, and to MNIT Jaipur for providing such a holistic growth environment. My journey from a
budding student of physics to a confident researcher exemplifies MNIT Jaipur’s commitment to student success.
I will carry this pride and gratitude forward as I step into the next phase of my academic career. I’m proud to be
an alumna of this incredible department, and I know it will continue to nurture bright minds and compassionate
hearts for generations to come.
