1. What are the prerequisites to become a PI under UBA?
Ans. To join UBA as PI, a Higher Education Institute
  1. Must have an AISHE Code.
  2. Should be willing to contribute in rural development activities.
  3. Should be willing to identify at least 5 villages in their vicinity.
  4. Should have at least 2 faculty members willing to be involved with development activities in rural areas.
The UBA Joining application received shall be ranked based on selection criteria set up by the ministry. The institutions that meet the eligibility criteria, will be selected under UBA.

2. What is the process of identification and selection of the targeted village by PI under UBA?
Ans. The list of eligible villages are mentioned in the registration form. A PI can select the villages from the designated list while registering. The Respective Regional Coordinating Institute can confirm the availability status of the village for adoption. This is to ensure that one village is not allotted to two or more PIs.
3. What should we do if we are allotted a village which is already an adopted village of another PI?
Ans. To ensure the avoidance of such an event, the process involves seeking confirmation from the RCI before a village is finally adopted by any PI. However, if such an event occurs, the PI should inform the RCI immediately. Raise a query on the support portal at the UBA website. (Blue colored tab, near to the scroll bar on the UBA website.) with the following documents:
  1. Village Name to be changed on the letterhead of PI
  2. The letter should be addressed to the UBA National Coordinator
  3. Letter should be Duly signed by the Head of Institution with a seal.
  4. Scanned copy of the letter to be attached with the online query.
  5. The villages will be changed after the completion of the document verification process.
4. Which districts of Rajasthan are presently under the designated area of MNIT as RCI?
Ans. MALAVIYA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AS REGIONAL COORDINATING INSTITUTE holds 11 DISTRICTS and coordinators between the participating institutes of these 11 districts. Thus, a participating institute should be from the area/ distinct given below:

5. What to do in case of not having the AISHE code as a PI under the UBA?
Ans. To portray the status of higher education in the country, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has endeavored to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) from 2010-11. The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in imparting higher education. A unique code is given to every institute, which is called AISHE Code.

6. Which category of the institute can become PI under the UBA?
Ans. Both Technical and Non-Technical Institutes can participate under the UBA.
7. How to submit developmental or customization projects?
Ans. To submit the developmental or customization projects as participating institutes under the UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN, the PI should prepare a formal proposal stating all the relevant facts and information about the project, as per the format of UBA given by NCI, IIT Delhi. Thereafter the proposal would be sent to the respective RCI as well as NCI for further process and funds accounting.
8. Ways to get different kinds of funding as PI under the UBA?
Ans. The funds for the development of the village can be generated from the links given in the following list. The list includes schemes available with the centre and state for convergence. 10. How to change the UBA Coordinator?
Ans. Raise a query on the support portal at the UBA website. (Blue colored tab, near to the scroll bar on the UBA website.) with the following documents:
  1. name of the coordinator you want to change on the letterhead of PI along with the details.
  2. The letter should be addressed to the UBA National Coordinator
  3. Letter should be Duly signed by the Head of Institution with a seal.

The coordinators will be changed after the completion of the document verification process.
