Brief Research Profile

Dr. Amar Patnaik has received multiple research projects from various Govt. funding agencies like Ministry of Textiles (MoT), DST India, CSIR, SPARC, Ministry of Steel, DRDO, ISRO, TBI DST, SERB, Ordnance Factory MEDAK and CDoS. He has published more than 350 research articles in various journals of repute and his h-index and i10-index are 46 and 183 respectively. More than 8000 citations in Google scholar reflects the hard work and devotion towards research in the narrow field of mechanical engineering and other allied fields. He has guided 25 Ph.D., 35 M. Tech. and several B.Tech. students so far and currently supervising 10 Ph.D. students. Beyond this, he has also served as the Guest Editor of various reputed SCI, SCOPUS indexed Journals and Edited Books published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis, Hindawi, CRC Press, Bentham Science, Intechopen and many others. Dr. Patnaik is the recipient of Ganesh Mishra Memorial Award awarded by Institution of Engineers (Orissa) India for consecutively in the year 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was awarded for the Excellence Paper Award 2010 by Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel. He was ranked 1st on the Elsevier Sciencedirect Top 25 List of most downloaded articles in the year 2010. Dr. Patnaik has been listed in Worlds Top 2 % scientists-researchers brought out by Stanford University, USA and Elsevier publications in 2021 and 2022. MNIT Jaipur honored Outstanding Teacher Award to Dr. Patnaik on, 5th September 2022.

2013-2014PGAdvance Research Lab for Tribology The Advanced Research lab for Tribology (ARLT) was established in 2012 at MNIT Jaipur worth of Rs. 15 crores (Approximate). It is one of the advanced, multidisciplinary and finest research lab in the Northern region of India.The research group is facilitated with modern tribology testing and characterizing equipment. ARLT provides the next generation of underpinning technology in mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, biomedical engineering by developing strategic research partnerships with government agencies and industries like ISRO, Ordinance factory, DRDO, CDOS, DST,CSIR, SPARC, MoT and many more. The laboratory research focuses on the Mechanical and Tribological beahviour in the area of energy, defence, automotive, biomedical and space applications.
