2012-2013UGPetroleum Refining LabThis lab provide facilities for determining the properties of the crude oil or petroleum products sample such as viscosity, density, flash point and fire point etc. Here students love to spend hour to understand the crude oil or petroleum products properties Various test of this lab helps for UG/PG students.List of Experiments 1.To determine the carbon residue in the given sample of oil. 2.To carry out the distillation of petroleum products. 3.To determine the flash point and fire point using by open cup apparatus, closed cup apparatus and Pensky martens apparatus etc. 4.To determine the effect of temperature on the viscosity of the given sample using Saybolt, Redwood and Engler viscometer. 5.To determine the aniline point of the petroleum products. 6.Determination of cloud point and pour point of petroleum products. 7.To determine the smoke point of a given sample. 8.To determine the calorific value of a fuel using peroxide bomb calorimeter. 9.To study the burning properties of a given sample.
