Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) for UG Programme

PEO1. To create chemical engineering graduates for meeting the current and future demands of technical manpower in chemical industry and to prepare them to pursue post-graduation and cutting-edge research in chemical engineering and allied engineering disciplines by providing them standard infrastructure and facilities.
PEO2. To provide graduates a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to formulate, analyze and solve chemical engineering and related problems.
PEO3. To enable graduates to undertake design development, production, managerial and entrepreneurial activities in the fields of chemical engineering including techno-economic feasibility of the process.
PEO4. To inculcate ethical practices in the graduates and basic concepts of intellectual skills, courage, integrity, awareness and sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the society.
PEO5. To develop leadership qualities in the graduates that makes them aware of excellence and to enable them to understand the significance of life-long learning. To promote a spirit of free and objective enquiry, creativity and innovation.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for UG & PG Programme

PSO1. The students of the programme will have a strong foundation in mathematics, basic sciences and chemical engineering to meet the current demands in professional world with cutting-edge research in chemical and allied engineering disciplines.
PSO2. Graduates would be equipped with a working knowledge in professional courses such as process economics, project engineering, industrial safety and sustainable development to work in the conventional as well as frontier area of Chemical Engineering which enables them suitable for chemical industries.
PSO3. Graduates of chemical engineering will be able to communicate in a professional setting, including soft skills, technical writing, presentation, and management skills making them employable to industries.

Programme Outcomes (POs) for UG Programme

PO1. Chemical engineering graduates will possess a working knowledge of the fundamentals of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and applied sciences and will be able to formulate, analyze, and solve chemical engineering problems.
PO2. Chemical engineering graduates will possess a working knowledge of fundamental principles such as laws of conservation, their applications, physical and chemical equilibria, transport and rate processes, separation processes, chemical process control, reaction engineering, non-conventional energy sources, Bioprocess engineering, catalysis and Polymer Science and Technology.
PO3. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to design Chemical Process Equipment, do detailed process plant engineering, piping, utilities, etc., determine process feasibility and viability with respect to economic aspects, process and environmental safety and social aspects etc.
PO4. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to design experiments, safely gather and analyze data, use latest technological tools to address practical chemical engineering problems.
PO5. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to use latest computer technology, computer aided simulation software's to solve complex chemical process engineering problems.
PO6. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to design a chemical system, process, or component with consideration of realistic constraints including practical, economic, environmental, safety, ethical, social, and political implications required for professional engineering skills.
PO7. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to provide environmental friendly and sustainable chemical processes for process development.
PO8. Chemical engineering graduates during their course of study will have inbuilt social ethics and an appreciation of professional, ethical, and contemporary issues, considering its societal and global impact and to apply them in their carrier.
PO9. Chemical engineering graduates will have inherent leadership qualities whenever working in a group and while handling multi disciplining engineering projects.
PO10. Chemical engineering graduates will possess self-learning skills to ensure life-long learning. They will be able to write coherent, concise, and accurate technical reports, compile data and give technical, concise, effective oral presentations acquiring good communication skills during course of study.
PO11. Chemical engineering graduates will be able to provide environmental friendly engineering projects involving multidisciplinary aspects/ streams including its financial cost estimation etc.
PO12. Chemical engineering graduates will have aptitude for learning new innovative technologies in chemical and allied fields of chemical Engineering or pursue advanced studies.

PEO1. To enable students to carry out fundamental and applied scientific research, in the field of chemical engineering.
PEO2. To make students develop skills, knowledge and insight in a specialization area of chemical engineering field.
PEO3. To make students develop the ability to clearly and concisely communicate the acquired knowledge to others.
Programme Outcomes (POs) for PG Programme
PO1. Graduates will have an advanced knowledge of fundamental areas of chemical engineering, such as bioprocess engineering, advanced separation processes, mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization of chemical processes and henceforth will be able to solve chemical engineering problems.
PO2. Graduates will be able to communicate ideas, reason critically and exercise independence of mind and thought in conducting research.
PO3. Graduates will have a holistic approach in solving problems and designing systems by applying professional engineering judgment, particularly where there is technical uncertainty and determine process feasibility and viability of the chemical processes with respect to economic aspects, environmental safety and social aspects etc.
PO4. Graduates will be able to use research methodologies, techniques and tools to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, demonstrate higher order skill in a broader perspective and contribute to the development of scientific/technological knowledge in the chosen field of specialization.
PO5. Graduates will use latest computer technologies, such as computer aided modeling and simulation software to solve complex chemical process engineering problems.
PO6. Graduates will develop an understanding of how to undertake research, design & development in cutting edge areas, inculcating ethical practices with independent intellectual skill, courage, integrity and sensitive to the social aspects of society.
PO7. Graduates will be able to appreciate the wider management and strategic environment within which technical decisions are to be made in chemical industries.
PO8. Chemical engineering graduates during their course of study will have inbuilt social ethics and an appreciation of professional, ethical, and contemporary issues, considering its societal and global impact and to apply them in their carrier.
PO9. Graduates will learn effectively for the purpose of continuing professional development in a wider context, i.e. throughout their career.
PO10. Graduates will participate in seminars, consultancy projects, case studies and research projects. Graduates will possess the ability to write coherent, concise, and accurate technical reports, compile data and give technical, concise, effective oral presentations acquiring good communication skills during course of study.
PO11. Graduates will be able to undertake technical projects and consultancy and provide solutions by applying problem-solving skills, particularly with regard to problem definition, team-work, project organization and delivery of project objectives within the constraints imposed by time and available information.
