SPIC MACAY Event on Hindustani Vocal by Ritesh and Rajneesh Mishra 12/09/2015 To 12/09/2015

On 12th of September, MNIT witnessed the singing and music of Banaras tradition.Occasion was an evening of classical music organised by SPIC MACAY society under the SPIC MACAY Jaipur chapter. The performing artists were SHRI RITESH AND RAJNEESH MISHRA, sons of the living legends Pt. Rajan Mishra and Pt. Sajan Mishra.
They areknown for their ability to create heavenly music that soothes the mind, body and soul, hail from the ancient city of Banaras and represent the tradition of Banaras Gharana named after the city. They are skilled with rich knowledge of Indian Ragas; the duos render Khayal, Tappa, TaranaBhajans and other classical forms, casting a spell on the audience.
The program started with vilambit teen taal composition in raagpuriyadhanashree followed by duet composition "Payaliyajhankarmori". There was also an interactive session with the students related to their art.Next part was to sing a composition with audience and then they concluded with a bhajan.On table Shubhmaharaj was fabulous and on harmonium Pt.Kanta Prasad Mishra gave effective accomplishment. The program was witnessed by about 120 students and faculties.
