Report of Unity Day Celebration 31/10/2017 To 31/10/2017

MNIT Jaipur, celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India as National Unity Day on 31/10/2017. Various events were organized by various societies of Creative Arts and Cultural Society on this occasion. The day began with the Run for Unity, at 7:30 A.M. The route for the run was from Administrative Block of the institute, Prabha Bhawan to Jawahar Circle. Nearly 150 participants both students and staff, took part in the Run to celebrate and propagate the message of national integrity. The students carried forward the message "Our culture and legacy is of unity in diversity".
A Logo Design Competition on the Theme of Unity was organized by the Fine Arts Society at Central Lawn of the institute. The event started at 10:15am and lasted till 12:30 pm. Students participated in large number enthusiastically giving a brief view of how they perceive 'unity' at its best. This event was followed by the Pledge Taking Ceremony at Prabha Bhawan where all students and faculty members took a pledge to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Historical Essay Competition on the topic "Character and Contribution of Sardar Patel" was the next event in line. Competitions for Composing and Singing Original Songs on the Theme of Unity were organized by the Music, Dance & SPIC- MACAY Society. A Short Play was organized by Dramatics Society in the evening with the title "Baaghi:Ek sunhere kal ki ore." As a part of the celebration, and with an attempt to nourish the talents of the students, The Literary Society arranged Elocution and an Essay writing Competition on the topic "Relevance and importance of Sardar Patel in today's India." The essays were judged on the basis of content, presentation, language, and conventions. The duration of the elocution was for five minutes and the languages of the speech included both Hindi and English.
The celebration culminated with the Felicitation of Freedom Fighters. Freedom fighters of Jaipur city, Shri Krishna Chand, Shri Rameshwar Choudhary, Shri Krishna Chandra Sahay, and Shri Ramji Lal Agarwal, Shri Durga Prasad Agarwal, Sh. Vaid Raamu Saini, the valiant fighters who have a remarkable contribution in Indian freedom movement, were falicitated at their homes. Their messages of reminiscences of their struggle for freedom were recorded for inspiring the students and inculcate in them a spirit of devotion to their nation.
