Creative arts and Cultural Society, MNIT Jaipur organized Dandiya night, 'Ghume Eno Garbo' that marks the celebration of Navratri. This event is a symbol of unity among the youth of the institute. The CACS team 2016-17 carried on the legacy of this divine celebration introduced by the CACS 2015-16 team.
The fun and frolic event of Dandiya night commenced in the presence of around 500 people at around 6:00pm in the evening of 24th September 2016 with the lighting of lamp and a traditional puja by the chief guest Mrs. Poonam Gupta, Ms. Nanny Tripathi (Associate Dean, CACS/AA) and Ms. Kalpana Pandit (Coordinator, CACS). As the evening progressed, more students filed into central lawn to join the celebration with the total attendance being around 1000 students.
The delightful sight of energetic light-footed young boys and girls swirling in graceful rhythmic Garba and enthusiastically playing Dandiya evoked admiration among all present there. Traditional Garba music, Dandiya numbers along with some peppy Bollywood songs kept everyone glued to the dance floor all throughout the evening till the very end of the event.
Some food stalls (including Pizza Hut, Keventers, etc ) were also organized to be set up at the entrance of central lawn. An ethnic outfit vendor was also hired prior to the event who visited the campus regularly to hire out traditional Dandiya/Garba outfit to students. A Dandiya seller was also present during as well as prior to the event.
The event was concluded by the chief guests announcing the 'Dandiya Tittles' and awarding prizes to the winners of the same. The students enjoyed the event thoroughly and the event was a grand success.
