Ans. No, internal sliding/change in allotted branch is not permitted after admission in the First Year through CSAB.
 
6. Whether there is a provision of lateral entry for Diploma Holders/B.Sc. Students in B.Tech./B.Arch. Programs in MNIT?
Ans. No, there is no provision of lateral entry for Diploma Holders/B.Sc. students in B.Tech./ B.Arch. programs.
 
7. Whether there is a provision for admission under Management quota in MNIT?
Ans. No, there is no provision for admission under Management quota of any kind in MNIT.
 
8. Whether there is a provision for admission under NRI quota?
Ans. No, there is no NRI quota at MNIT Jaipur, However, MNIT admits students under Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA) category, through centralized counseling process.
 
9. What are the different schemes under which a foreign student can take admission at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. At MNIT Jaipur a foreign student can take admission under DASA, Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) schemes.

1. How can one take admission in Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech, B.Arch) at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. One can take admission to the UG programmes (B.Tech, B.Arch,) at MNIT Jaipur only through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) after qualifying JEE (Main) examination of the same year. No other means of admission is available.
 
2. How can one take admission in M.Tech/M.Plan programmes at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. One can take admission to M.Tech/M.Plan (Full Time/ Part Time) programmes in the institute through i) Centralized counseling by CCMT ii) Institutional Selection Mechanism (under sponsored category based on the institute's notification issued in the month of April-May every year).
 
3. How can one take admission in Ph.D programme at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. One can take admission into Ph.D. programme through institutional selection mechanism based on the institute's notification issued twice in a year (April-May and Nov.-Dec. each year)
 
4. What is the minimum qualification for the admission in PG / Ph.D. program.

5. How can one take admission in M.Sc. programme at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. One can take admission to M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics) programmes through centralized counseling for M.Sc. admission (CCMN) on the basis of IIT JAM score.
 
6. How can one take admission in MBA programme at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. Admission to MBA programme at MNIT Jaipur is done through an open advertisement and Institutional selection process. Advertisement comes during the month of January/February of a year. 7. How can one pay fee at the time of admission?
Ans. The fee as mentioned in link applicable to new entrants can be paid by them in the form of Demand Draft favoring "Registrar MNIT Jaipur" payable at "Jaipur" or through cash at the ICICI Bank based on the fee challan given at the time of admission/registration in the Institute.
 
8. After taking admission to a programme paying full fee if a student cancels his/her admission, how much money he/she will be refunded?

1. How can an Alumnus/ on roll student can get Official Transcripts, duplicate documents?
Ans. An Alumnus/ on roll student can get Official Transcripts/duplicate documents by submitting the documents as per the link: http://www.mnit.ac.in/academics/downloads/formats/instruction.pdf with the requisite fee.
(However, in case of an alumnus who has graduated from MREC Jaipur, affiliated to University of Rajasthan, he/ she is required to approach University of Rajasthan for getting the documents.)
 
2. What is the fee to be paid by an Alumnus/ On roll Student to get Official Transcripts?

4. How can an Alumnus get his/her Original Degree Certificate?

5. If a student has received an erroneous certificate/grade sheets (any). How can she/he get the same corrected?
Ans. In case a student desires for any correction in grade sheet/final degree certificate/migration certificate etc., the student shall have to apply for the same, as per the procedure applicable for issuing duplicate documents.
 
6. How to get the bonafide certificate, Tuition Fee Certificate, Fee Structure Certificate, NOC for Visa, Rank Certificate, Medium of Instruction Certificate etc?
Ans. A student can get said certificates on submission of the application in the format available at link http://www.mnit.ac.in/academics/format.php, in Academic Section.
(The preparation time for obtaining these documents is one week after the submission of application).
 
7. Is any fee is applicable for obtaining grade sheets of each semester, provisional degree certificate, migration certificate?
Ans. MNIT Jaipur does not charge any fee for issuing grade sheets of each semester, provisional degree certificate, migration certificate for the first time. However, for obtaining duplicate documents of the same, the fee and the procedure as per http://www.mnit.ac.in/academics/downloads/formats/notice.pdf is applicable.
 
8. What to do in case of loss of Grade sheet/any certificate?
Ans. The student is required to apply for duplicate Grade sheet/any certificate as per the stipulated procedure.
 
9. I have passed from MNIT Jaipur in grading system (CGPA). What is the conversion formula used at MNIT Jaipur to convert my CGPA to Percentage?
Ans. Since Percentage is a point estimation and CGPA in an interval estimation, MNIT Jaipur does not prescribe any conversion formula to convert CGPA to Percentage. However, for reference one can use the formula: Percentage = CGPA x 10.

1. Whether any scholarship is given to SC/ST/OBC/EBC/Minority students at MNIT Jaipur?
Ans. SC/ST students are eligible for Post Metric Scholarship (PMS) of the respective State Governments/ Govt. of India if they satisfy the norms set by the them. For this the students shall have to apply at appropriate time to their concerned State Governments/Govt. of India.

2. How many scholarships a student can avail at a time?
Ans. Only one. A student getting scholarship from one Govt. fund is not eligible for the 2nd scholarship.
 
3. Whether all students who take admission in M.Tech./M.Plan programme with valid GATE score will get Institute Assistantship?
Ans. The students admitted to M.Tech./M.Plan programs (Full Time) through CCMT will get "Institute Assistantship" every month subject to satisfying attendance and CGPA requirement of the Institute.
 
4. Whether the students admitted in M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. programs under the sponsored category are eligible for any type of scholarship/Institute Assistantship?
Ans. No, the students admitted in M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. programs under the sponsored category are not eligible for any type of scholarship/Institute Assistantship.
 
5. Whether an SC/ST/OBC/EBC/Minority M.Tech/ M.Plan student getting Institute Assistantship can avail PMS scholarship?
Ans. No, an SC/ST/OBC/EBC/Minority M.Tech/ M.Plan student getting GATE scholarship/Institute assistantship can not avail any other scholarship.
 
6. Under which condition a PhD student will get scholarship/fellowship?
Ans. A PhD full time student admitted under the non sponsored category if recommended by the Department selection committee (DSC) for Institute Assistantship/financial assistance from project grant at the time of admission, shall be eligible for assistantship as per the guidelines stipulated by M.H.R.D./Institute from time to time.
 
7. Whether a student needs to return the scholarship/fellowship if he/she discontinues the programme?
Ans. If any M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. students availing Institute assistantship withdraws from the enroll program in midway without its successful completion, he/she needs to refund the scholarship/fellowship amount received till the date of withdrawal from the Institute.
 
8. What Scholarship is applicable to Non-NET students pursuing Ph.D. (Full Time, Non sponsored) in the department of Sciences, Humanities & Social Science and Management Studies?
Ans. The students are eligible for 50% of the "Institute Assistantship" applicable from time to time.
 
9. Is M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. (part Time) students eligible for scholarship?
Ans. No. M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. (part Time) students are not eligible for scholarship/Institute assistantship.
 
10. When the Institute Assistantship of a M.Tech./M.Plan. student is terminated?
Ans. The Institute Assistantship of a M.Tech./M.Plan. student is terminated when he/she attains CGPA less than 6 but above 5.5 in a semester.
 
11. When the Institute Assistantship of a Ph.D. student is terminated?
Ans. A Ph.D. student as well as Institute Assistantship is terminated from the program when he/she attains CGPA less than 7.
 
12. Can a Ph.D. student admitted without Institute Assistantship/Scholarship get scholarship at later stage (after admission) ?
Ans. No, the student shall continue in the program without Institute Assistantship/Scholarship
 
13. Can a Ph.D. student admitted with financial assistance from project grant shift to Institute Assistantship at later stage?
Ans. No, the student shall continue in the program on the terms and conditions he/ she was granted admission.
 
14. Is M.Tech./M.Plan./Ph.D. student eligible for scholarship for unauthorized period of leave?
Ans. The Institute Assistantship is not granted for the period of unauthorized leave/semester withdrawal. However, Institute Assistantship is given for the period of maternity leave/authorized leave.

1. Is it compulsory for every student to register in each semester even though he/she is not required to register in any course in that semester?
Ans. Yes, All the students who are on the rolls of the institute are required to register in person for each semester on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar to continue to be on the rolls of the institute.
 
2. What is a procedure for a registration in a semester?
Ans.
  1. After the payment of the fee, the student is required to fill his/her choice of courses offered in the semester on MNIT ERP (as announced by Academic Section).
  2. Thereafter, student shall approach his/her Program Adviser for approval of chosen courses.
  3. After, the approval of courses by Program Advisor, the student shall approach the academic section on stipulated date with the proof of fee paid, ID proof for signing in person on the registration register for that semester.
(The signatures shall be permitted only after due verification.)
 
3. Is the student presence must at the time of registration?
Ans. Yes, a student is required to register in person (i.e. affix his/her signature on the register list of Academic Section) for each semester.
(The registration of a semester gets completed only when the student personally signs on the registration register of that semester).
 
4. What can lead to cancellation of registration of a semester?
Ans. Absence for a period of three or more weeks at a stretch during a semester shall result in automatic cancellation of the registration of a student from all the courses in the semester, the student has registered in.
 
5. What is the penalty applicable to a student to register within the stipulated time?
Ans. Any student registering late will be required to pay a late fee as decided by the Senate from time to time. In no case student will be permitted to register after last date of registration as per academic calendar.
 
6. What fee is applicable if a student is not registering for any course in the semester/in semester withdrawal cases.?
Ans. In case the student is not registering for any course of the semester he/she is required to pay "Institute Fee" (excluding the tuition fee).
 
7. If a student deposits the semester fee but is not present at the time of registration, whether he/she is allowed to study in the semester?
Ans. No, mere payment of fee does not imply completion of registration for a semester.
 
8. If a student has not registered in a semester as per the stipulated process, whether he/she can study in the semester if he/she has paid the fee.
Ans. No, the registration in a stipulated process (indicated above) is must for a student to attend classes and appear in midterm/end term examination of a semester.
 
9. What will happen if a student fails to register in the stipulated time?
Ans. The sole responsibility for registration rests with the student concerned. All students who are not on authorized leave must continue to register in the following semester till they complete their program (Within the specified maximum duration of the program).

1. How add and drop of the courses can be done by a student?
Ans. The add and drop of the courses can be done on MNIT ERP after registration process is completed and till the stipulated dates mentioned in the academic calendar. The student are advised to check their MNIT email ID and Institute website for information in this respect.
 
2. Can a student register for open elective offered by the department in which he/she is registered?
Ans. No, A student cannot register for open electives offered by his/her department.
 
3. Can a student with CGPA 5 and above apply for improvement in the course in which he/she has attained D grade?
Ans. No, improvement is only applicable to students with CGPA less than 5.
 
4. How many times a student can apply for improvement in a courses?
Ans. The improvement in a course is permitted only once e.g. in case of upgradation in the grade if the student again attains D grade in a course for which he/she appeared for improvement, he/she cannot register for improvement in the same course again.
 
5. How many backlog courses a student can register in a supplementary examination?
Ans. A student can register maximum 3 course in a supplementary examination.
 
6. If a student has been awarded 'F' grade in the subject(s) in which he was caught using unfair means, whether he/she can appear for the same in supplementary examination?
Ans.
  1. In case a student is awarded "F" grade on account of unfair means in a particular subject- He/she is permitted to appear in supplementary examinations for that subject, provided the student meets other conditions prescribed for eligibility to appear in supplementary examinations.
  2. In case of a student whose entire semester subjects are cancelled and awarded "F" grade- The student is required to register afresh in a complete regular semester and he/she shall not be permitted to appear in supplementary examination for the courses of that semester.
 
7. If a student registers in a particular course in regular semester and fails, then he/she appears for the same in supplementary examination and again fails. Subsequently, the student registers for the said course as back paper in a regular semester and fails, now is the student permitted to appear second time in supplementary examination?
Ans. No, supplementary examination is a one-time measure only, hence a student can appear only once in supplementary examination of a particular subject.
 
8. What are the general guideline for supplementary exanimation?

9. What procedure is to be followed in case a UG student has missed end term examination on account of medical grounds?
Ans. In case a student has missed the end semester examination, for a genuine reason he/she is immediately required to inform his/her respective DUGC convener & concerned Program Advisor/Course Coordinator in the prescribed format available at link http://www.mnit.ac.in/academics/format.php -[Format of Application for Special End Term (SET) Examination] for award of 'I' Grade in the said course(s). However, an ‘I’ grade must, be converted by the Course Coordinator into an appropriate letter grade within ten days from the completion of end semester examinations.
 
10. Are the courses in which the student has attained grade "F" counted in the CGPA calculation?
Ans. Yes. awarded "F" grade courses are counted in CGPA and SGPA computation.
 
11. What is meant by auditing a course? Are they counted in the CGPA computation?
Ans. The students are permitted to audit a course in addition to the prescribed academic load requirement. However for auditing a course prior consent of the course instructor should be sought. These courses shall not be counted for calculation of SPGA/CGPA and shall not be shown in the Grade card. The Course Instructor may issue a certificate of completion of the audit course(s).

The insurance cover will be effective only after the remittance of insurance premium in the account of the insurance company for existing students (renewal) and insurance cover will be effective after 30 days of the remittance of insurance premium in the account of insurance company for new students (freshers).The Insurance fee is not refundable at all in any case after the remittance of premium amount in the account of insurance company.
