Report on Orientation Programme for Freshers 2018-18 28/07/2018 To 29/07/2018

To introduce the newly admitted 2018 batch with MNIT fraternity, the Orientation Programme was organised at the institute premises on 28th -29th July 2018. The major object of the programme was to make the students aware about the academic journey of which they are going to be a part for the upcoming years and of the place where they will live their dreams.
A two day event was lined up with the diversity of lectures, performances and presentations conducted along its way. With the presence of Prof.Udaykumar R. Yaragatti, Director MNIT Jaipur, and other eminent dignitaries, the talented students were familiarised with college life and various aspects to aid them along this journey. Embracing the roots of our Indian culture, practices and praising the environment, the event started with a vibrant morning with Yoga and tree plantation. The departmental visits made the students familiar with the campus life. Students were finally welcomed as new entrants to the extended family of the college with ample opportunities to interact with their seniors and professors. MNIT is a place to flourish and to realise technology in real terms to meet the current and future challenges of development. The students through varied activities were made to realise their inner potentials and transform knowledge into achievements. Under the lively colours of different societies of MNIT, the programme witnessed the enthusiastic involvement of freshers, who gripped the attention with their breath-taking performances.
On the final day, another session introducing this exciting journey was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Director Sir and other dignitaries. Coordinator CACS- Creative Arts and Cultural Society addressed the gathering and inspired students to achieve the goals and develop an all-round, sound personality through the variety of activities they are going to be involved in the near future. The mentors and professors introduced the students with diverse centres of excellence; Prof. Awadesh Kumar Bhardwaj introduced students to the innovation and incubation centre, Prof K.R. Niazi briefly introduced students about the academics, its functions, procedure related to registration of under-graduate and post-graduate programs and all sorts of administration activities linked with the academic section, the training and placement cell was introduced to students by Prof. Jyotirmay Mathur which deals with facilitating Industrial Training, mandatory for UG (B.Tech.) curriculum and also Invites Companies/Institutions/Organizations of repute for placements of both UG and PG students, Prof. Tarush Chandra briefed the gathering about the student welfare and various co-curricular activities, Dr. Tarun Verma introduced students with variety of sports and other curricular activities provided by the institution, Prof. Upendra Pandel informed the gathering about hostel, facilities provided by hostels and hostel life at MNIT, Mr. Deep Singh shared the information regarding library facility provided by the institution, Dr. Kavita Lalwani introduced the freshers with one of the best platforms which deals with positive interactions between senior and junior i.e. Student Mentorship Program which aims at building community shaped for the welfare of freshers and ensures that they don't feel away from home, Mr. Shreekant Gupta, being one of the alumni, shared his experience about the institution and working and structure of the alumni association.
Prof. Udaykumar R. Yaragatti, Director MNIT, Jaipur inspired the new-comers to make the best of the new beginning in their lives with his witty sense of humour and knowledgeable words. He urged the students to respect their parents as they have the greatest role in all their successful ventures. He talked about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and overall personality development and also encouraged students to become more independent. He emphasized on the importance of making good friends and welcomed the students to the MNIT family. His incredible speech touched hearts and filled the students with enthusiasm and joy.
The place which is more than being just an academic institute, it's a place which brings you with the opportunities to learn, gain knowledge, develop skills and enhance personal attributes and make one a better person for the future.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Sushant Upadhyay to dignitaries and every person who was involved in making this endeavour turn into success. The institute welcomed the talented youngsters to create a better future, nurture their potentials, develop a mind-set and deliver the best for the society. With these key goals to be cherished, the orientation programme concluded with a promise to have a multi-talented bunch of students for the coming semester.
