A free dental checkup and awareness camp was recently organized at Pahariya village, Phagi on 4/06/2017 by MNIT Jaipur under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. A team of Senior Specialist Dental Surgeons Dr. Lalit Garg, faculty coordinators Dr. Madhu Agarwal, Dr. Rajeev Dohare and students of MNIT carried out a comprehensive dental awareness among the villagers. The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating men, women, and students of the village about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent from them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay. The surgeons also highlighted the possible formation of harmful acid which develops when bacteria (plaque) get in contact with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay. Importance of daily teeth brushing was emphasized. The villagers got ample opportunities to interact with the dental surgeons to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral diseases. On completion of the dental checkup, each villager was informed about the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan. Faculty coordinators thanked dental surgeons for rendering moral and selfless service to the village. The camp ended at 12:00 noon.
