Pahariya Village Report(05 March 2017)



Recognising the importance of health in one’s life and increasing health problems among villagers , UBA team of Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur organised a Free Medical and Fitness Camp here at Pahadiya Village on 5th March,2017 under the aegis of Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan – an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development with aim to accelerate sustainable development and growth in villages through participatory processes and appropriate technologies.


The camp was organized by UBA team headed by faculty co-ordinators Dr. Rajeev Kumar Dohare Dr. Madhu Agarwal, and Institute student co-ordinator Veer Pratap Jaiswal with 40 enthusiastic volunteers and a team of well-qualified doctors headed by Dr. Virender Singh Shekhawat. The camp started at 10 A.M. and continued till 2:00 P.M. As a part of this camp regular check-up of students and villagers were undertaken and specific suggestions were prescribed in case of serious ailments. Moreover, fun and recreational activities like musical chair, tug-of-war, cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, Kabaddi etc. were also organized for students and local children highlighting the importance of sports and games in the life of students for proper growth and fitness.


Besides the medical camp Household survey regarding the problems faced by villagers were also done. UBA team concluded that the most basic problem in the village was that of water containing excess fluoride. The response of the villagers and the students was overwhelming and it itself demonstrated the success of the Medical and Fitness Camp organized by the UBA team.
