Jirrota Village Report(17 Sep 2017)



Tree plantation and dental check-up camp were organized by Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur at village Jirrota, District Jaipur on 17th September 2017. The camp was organized by UBA team (MNIT) headed by faculty coordinators Dr. Preeti Bhatt and Dr. RajKumar Joshi with Mr. Ashok Aechara (General secretary, social activity, UBA MNIT Jaipur), Ms. Arushi Maheshwari (General Secretary, Technical activity ,UBA MNIT Jaipur), Mr. Dhananjay Verma (Joint Secretary of Jirrota village) and 36 enthusiastic students and a team of well qualified doctors: Dr Jitendra and Dr. Mona .


Highlights:

Provided dental check-up and free medicines to 400 residents of Jirrota village of Jaipur District. An enthusiastic team comprising of two faculty coordinators, 35 volunteers from MNIT campus, 4 medical professionals (2 specialist doctors and 2 paramedical staff) from MNIT dispensary. More than 200 plants were planted at the various places in the village. Household survey regarding the problems faced by villagers was done by the student volunteers who visited all the houses in the village and helped the residents to fill up the given questions of the remaining houses.


Conclusion:

On the basis of the discussion with the villagers and the Sarpanch, it was concluded that the most basic problem in the village was that of a shortage of water, excess fluoride in the available water, the problem of sewerage and drainage, and local transport. The response of the villagers for the Medical camp was overwhelming and it itself demonstrated the success of the dental check up Camp organized by the UBA team.
