BOSM'13 Sports Performance Report 18/09/2013 To 22/09/2013

The BOSM'13 sports tournament took place from 18th to 22nd Sept. 2013 in BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan. The inauguration took place in the Basketball court at 7:00 PM on 18th Sept. 2013, Col.Rajbhardhan Singh Rathore (Olympian) and Ms. Krishna Poonia (Olympian) was the chief guest. MNIT contingent with 80 students (39-Women and 41-Men) along with Dr. Subir Debnath, Sports Officer and Mr. Rajeev Goswami (Deptt. of Chemical Engineering) as Coach and Manager respectively went to participate in the tournament. The team reached on 18th Sept. at 7:00 PM, the organizers did not provide Dinner due to delay in formalities of Registration. An amount of Rs. 210/- (Rupees two Hundred and Ten) was charged over and above the Registration Fees of Rs.850/-.
Honourable Director, Dean S W & Sports coordinators kept on motivating from time to time which lead the contingent team to perform and excel better. Institute teams members displayed a much disciplined performances in every Games/ Sports.
MNIT created history in the medal tally of achieving 41 medals (09-Gold, 19-Silver & 13-Bronze) and also stood second in overall position in the BOSM'13 meet. The detailed result is enclosed herewith. The athletics team performed the extraordinary performance by winning 33-medals, 03-medals by powerlifting and Taekondo respectively and 01- medal each by Volleyball and Tennis. The Hindi press club in their bulletin "Spardha" on 21st Sept. 2013 highlighted the MNIT Coach Dr. Subir Debnath for his dedication and commitment for the superb performance.
The closing of the meet was held at 8:30 PM in the BITS auditorium Dy. Director, Dean SW, Chief Warden and Director Physical Education give away the prizes. Ms. Aishwaria Nagath & Vijaypal Singh Burdak of athletics team fallen sick, treatment was given at the Hospital including blood test and etc.
The contingent returned back on 23rd sept. 2013 FN, students were exhausted after the 05 days hectic schedule.
