Department of Mathematics, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur hosted the two days workshop on "LaTeX for Research" during July 23-24, 2016 in the computer lab in computer centre. This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical and hands on practical experience on LaTeX to the beginners. The organizers of conference are Dr. Rashmi Jain and Dr. Ritu Agarwal.
LaTeX is open source typesetting software widely used in academia preferably for technical/scientific papers writing for journals by researchers, engineers and mathematicians at large. LaTeX can be used as a standalone document preparation system. It follows de facto standards of typesetting.

The topics covered during the sessions were: Making simple document, writing mathematical symbols and equations, making graphs and including them in the document, bibliography and cross-reference management, making presentation using beamer class and the other required commands. The session were interactive and participants were practicing directly on computers.
