About Us

Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur is one of the premiere 31 NITs in the Country. It was established with a vision to create a center for imparting technical and scientific education. The institute aims at conducting cutting-edge research in the emerging and established fields of sciences, technology, and Social Sciences. Recently, MNIT, Jaipur was ranked second among the Engineering Institutions in Rajasthan. The College was established in 1963 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the state government, Rajasthan. The college was awarded the status of National Institute of Technology in 2002. In 2007, the Act of Parliament proclaimed the college as Institute of National Importance. The Institute is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Since its inception, over 12,000 students have graduated from MNIT, Jaipur in various disciplines including engineering, Physical Sciences, Management, and Humanities & Social Sciences. The Alumni of the institute are working as scientists, technologists, managers, and entrepreneurs. There are several alumni who are contributing to the transdisciplinary fields and are contributing through administrative services and social sector services. MNIT, Jaipur through its Alumni network and student resources is contributing significantly to the building of the nation and society.

A. Participating Institution:

Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur started the journey as RCI, March 2019 with a Participating Institute under its aegis. The Count of PIs has reached 55 in 2021. 6-10 PIs are undergoing the registration process, and are soon going to join RCI MNIT J as PI.

B. Adopted villages:

With the collaborative efforts of our PIs, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur has adopted 280+ villages in the last five years. RCI MNIT J has adopted these villages from 11 districts of central Rajasthan. These Districts constitute the allocated area of RCI MNIT Jaipur.

Role of RCI:

Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur as Regional Coordinating Institute will seek -

  1. To envision and comprehend the needs of PIs and the villages adopted by them so as to facilitate their working and coordination.
  2. To organize the activities for customizing the existing technologies, development, and adaptations of new technologies, improvising the implementation mechanism of existing government schemes and interventions based on the local needs of the PIs and their adopted villages.
  3. To procure financial support from the National coordinating institute, district administration, panchayat raj institutions, and other sources for PI activity.
  4. To design an action plan in coordination with PIs aiming at raising the standard of living in the adopted villages.
  5. To implement the action plans in coordination with local administration and other stakeholders.
  6. To act as a nodal center for promoting and facilitating the UBA network in the designated region.
  7. To organize the training and workshops aiming at imparting knowledge about the designing and implementation of innovative solutions for the identified challenges.
  8. To facilitate, supervise and monitor the activities of PIs in the designated region.
  9. To coordinate with regional authorities for the identification of the sectoral challenges in the region.
  10. To evaluate the workings of the PIs based on the implementation and diffusion of the solutions to the sectoral challenges prevalent in the region.
  11. To work in accordance with the plan approved by the National Steering Committee, UBA formed by the Ministry of human resource development, Government of India.
  12. To facilitate regular interaction with MHRD, National Coordinating Agency (IIT Delhi) & RCIs.
  13. To disseminate progress reports and performance concerns with the authorities.
  14. To award credit benefits to UBA participants involving faculty members and students of the PIs for community engagement.

Under the aegis of Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, there are 55 Participating Institutes located in 11 districts of central Rajasthan. MNIT, Jaipur works as the nodal center for promoting, coordinating, and facilitating the UBA network in this region.
